In Her Own Words
Art is truly a visual experience and I cannot hope to do justice to my work through words. The spark for each piece begins within my heart and my mind, and from there I converse with the paint, letting it take me in unintended directions. The sparks are a combination of personal experiences, artistic and historic analyses, and a romantic aesthetic. I hone in on the beauty of the natural world and draw on the interconnectedness of all things.
My work contains an emotional energy inspired by Caravaggio, turn-of-the-century European artists, and twentieth century artists Andrwe Wyeth, Salvador Dali, and Georgia O'Keeffe.
I hope you can enter into a dialogue with them as I have through making them. I would be interested to hear if this work brings you inspiration. Opening our eyes a little bit more is, after all, what art is all about. |
