Restoration Work
Restoration involved bringing an object back to its original appearance as much as possible.
Whereas Conservation involves saving as much original material as possible and gently reintegrating loss areas,
Restoration strives for a more brightly finished appearance through the recreation of a past image using historical materials and methods.
The lobby of Buffalo Bill's Historic Inn in Sheridan, Wyoming was restored to its original appearance in the historic photo above
using victorian stencils created especially for this project.
