The bark on this bristlecone up on Windy Ridge above Alma, CO appeared to me
as a mask covering the skin-like wood beneath it. With raised arms, the anthropomorphized
figure reaches up to the sky and danced across the horizon at 11,700 feet.
How colorful and full of life are these ancients!
