Ebb and Flow

Oil over Airbrushed Acrylic
24" x 20"

This bristlecone up on Mt. Evans in Colorado caught my attention in its exposed elegance of its form.
The wood grain winds around like muscles over bone just as the fleshy bark attempts to seal the trunk from the elements.
I find the form so entrancing that I sat and painted it for hours despite the chill in the air and the three mile hike back to the car.
